Power Rhythm

ROBERT ERSKINE
Power Rhythm
Power Rhythm stood 16 meters high and 5 meter wide. It is made in 2000 from wrought stainless steel. The artist, Robert Erskine won a national competition to design a landmark sculpture for the City of Peterborough. Power Rhythm, the resulting sculpture, was built to commemorate the new millennium, the launch of the Sustrans cycle network, and Perkins Caterpillar engines’ commitment to the local community. This gigantic sculpture was inspired by the city’s engineering tradition, as well as Robert Erskine’s experience and enthusiasm for design, engineering, industry, and nature1.
