Williams’ works are primarily located in England, with other solo installations in Wales, Italy, and Japan. The sculpture Sea Rider was created in 1979 and acquired in 1980. It was first located in the pedestrian square at the centre of the shops in Ortongate Shopping Centre, Orton Goldhay PE2 5TD. It was made from Ancaster Weatherbed Stone and 60 ins in height (exc. plinth)1. Due to the developments of the site it has been removed for safety. The present wehereabout is unknown. Few locals are familiar with the sculpture.
Glynn Williams is a sculptor from the United Kingdom and known worldwide. He was born in 1939 in Shrewsbury. He was once an abstract artist, but since the late 1970s, he has been working in the figurative style2.
